How To Find Motivation
Every once in a while I find myself struggling to find energy and motivation. This week has been one of those times. When you work for yourself its super important to hold yourself accountable and get things done even when you don't feel like it. I can press snooze as many times as I want, skip the gym and lay on the couch all day watching youtube videos but then work starts to pile up making it even harder the next day to find motivation. When there's too much to do its hard to figure out where to even start.
The solution to this problem is simple but easier said than down - Just take action. Start. Do something.
When I feel overwhelmed my favourite thing to do is create lists. Write down what you need to get down and check things off when its complete. Every time you knock something off the list it gives you a sense of accomplishment and creates momentum. Action creates motivation.
A few things that help me stay motivated
- keep up with a good routine
- workout regularly
- get enough sleep
- eat well
I didn't feel like leaving the house today but I made myself run a couple errands and listened to some podcasts in the car. Just getting out and doing something made me feel 10x better. Now I'm going to get off the couch and head to a gym class. I don't want to do it but I know I feel great after!
